Acrylic Waterproof Coating Description

Dr. Fixit Raincoat 2 in 1 Fibre Reinforced Acrylic Waterproof Coating For Roofs & Exterior Surface. Dr. Fixit Raincoat 2 in 1 is an elastomeric waterproof coating that provides a seamless and tough waterproof barrier with excellent crack bridging ability that can accommodate movements due to thermal variations in the waterproofing system.

Acrylic Waterproof Coating Method of Application

Surface Preparation – Roof

  • Prepare the surface thoroughly by cleaning, washing and removing dust, dirt, oil, grease and loose particles.
  • In existing old terraces such as brick-bat-coba or screeds, the substrate must be checked for its soundness.
    Damaged or hollow portions, sharp edges, etc. must be cut and repaired with a polymer-modified mortar using Dr. Fixit Super Latex.
  • All surface cracks up to 5 mm width should be filled up with Dr. Fixit Crack-X paste
  • Bitumen based waterproofing treatments must be completely removed by mechanical scarification or by any other effective mechanical means.

Application Procedure for Roof

  • Apply one coat of Dr. Fixit Raincoat 2 in 1 (diluted with water in the ratio 2 : 1) at the rate of 7.5 to 9 sqmtr / ltr.
    Allow it to dry for 2-3 hours.
  • Apply the first coat of Dr. Fixit Raincoat 2 in 1 at the rate of 2 to 2.2 Sqmtr / ltr / coat and allow it to dry before
    taking up the second coat, the rate of application being the same. This would ensure correct consumption of
    material that will deliver a total DFT of 500 – 600 micron.
  • Minimum drying time between coats will be 4 to 6 hours.
  • Allow the system to air cure for 7 days minimum.
  • For Additional protection use Fibre mesh (40 gsm) after 1st coat of undiluted Dr. Fixit Raincoat 2 in 1 for
    additional re-enforcement or apply 3rd coat of undiluted Dr. Fixit Raincoat 2 in 1.

Precautions & Limitations: Roof

  • All corners, gaps, joints, protrusions & outlets shall be coated with extra coat
  • Do not apply during rains.
  • Substrate MUST be in SSD condition for application of primer coat.
  • The product is designed only for foot traffic and not meant for vehicular traffic. Not suitable for any machinery
    or equipment movement.
  • To achieve the comprehensive waterproofing, all parapet walls should be covered with Raincoat 2 in 1
  • All wall to floor joints must be provided with proper angle fillets prepared with polymer modified mortar using
    Dr. Fixit Super Latex.

Coverage

  • Self Priming – Coverage 7.5 to 9 sqmtr per ltr / per coat. (Dilution 50%).
  • 2 coats for Roof – Coverage 2 to 2.2 Sqmtr / ltr / per coat (No Dilution).
  • Single coat Exterior Surface – Coverage 3.7 to 4 sqmtr / ltr / Per coat (Dilution 5%).
  • Two coat Exterior Surface – Coverage 3.1 to 3.5 sqmtr per ltr / 2 coats (Dilution 10%).
    * Coverage can vary depending on the porosity of the surface.
